Sadly, but unsurprisingly, there is another profile organisation reporting significant levels of bullying and sexual harassment in the workplace. This time its the ABC. The same trends as have been reported previously show a significant number of staff who have been bullied and harassed at work with many people not feeling comfortable to report the behaviour. The numbers of female employees sexually harassed by a peer were reflective of the findings of the former sex discrimination commissioner, Kate Jenkins. The positive part of this story is that the ABC itself commissioned the workforce survey which uncovered the prevalence of the behavior. It is now out in the open and management have said they will be taking action to address this issue. They have introduced an anonymous reporting mechanism for staff to use in future which is an indication of a proactive intent. Lets hope it follows through and that other organizational leaders will display similar courage to look under the bonnet of their businesses and call out inappropriate behaviors and take action to address it. hashtag#mediation hashtag#conflictresolution
